Receptionist Position (UK)


We are looking for an efficient Receptionist to work with our busy team in Gt. Yarmouth. You must be smart, polite, flexible and able to prioritise your work.


  • Attention to detail and a pride in the quality of the work you produce.
  • Team player with a professional manner and good organisational skills.
  • To dress in a smart and professional manner at all times, as you are likely to be the first contact with the company and therefore are acting in the role of ambassador.
  • Competent in Microsoft Outlook including Word, Excel & PowerPoint ideally.
  • Familiar with Sage 200 would be useful; however training will be given, together with the company’s bespoke data systems.
  • A flexible and helpful attitude with the ability to prioritise your workload for the benefit of the business.


  • To meet and greet visitors to the offices of Survival Systems in a professional, helpful and friendly manner.
  • To ensure all visitors sign in and out of the visitors book in accordance with the company’s Health, Safety & QA Policy.
  • To offer all visitors refreshments on arrival and either arrange or prepare.
  • Each morning retrieve any messages left on the company answering machine and ensure they are received by the relevant person for their action.
  • Each morning forward any emails which have been received to the relevant person for their action.
  • To answer all telephone calls within 3 rings demonstrating a professional service to all callers.
  • To introduce callers to the appropriate person.
  • In the event that you are unable to find the appropriate person within a short period of time, go back to the caller, explain the delay and keep them informed about what you plan to do to connect them.
  • In the event that you are unable to connect the caller with their requested contact, ask if you can help by understanding the reason for the call, and then ask if you can contact an alternative person who may be able to assist them.
  • To be responsible for the clean and tidiness of the reception area.
  • To pass the daily post to the accounts department speedily.
  • To arrange when requested, any post being sent by external carriers.
  • To water all plants in the business ensuring they are in a healthy condition, in the event they are not, arrange for replacement or disposal.
  • To assist team members by sourcing telephone numbers and callers, when requested.
  • To carry out the various administrative duties requested of you by the Finance Supervisor & Office Manager.
  • To ensure the printer and fax machine in reception is in good working order and has a constant supply of paper for use by the business. Ensure both are turned on each morning in readiness for use.
  • To carry out, when requested various administrative tasks making good use of your IT skills.
